OUTDOOR GAMES

Football – When you sweat with a happy heart you build up a healthy you. Playing footballincreases the strength of the body’s skeletal frame. It also keeps your bones strong as you get older. In this game, there are a lot of kills and techniques which require body coordination such as dribbling, sprinting, twisting, and turning throughout the game. That’s why coordination is important.

Cricket – Cricket has been an established team sport for hundreds of years and is one of the most popular sports in the world. It can be played for competition or for fun. It involves sprinting between wickets and running to stop balls, as well as bowling and throwing. Itis a good sport for developing overall fitness, stamina and hand–eye coordination.

Basketball – Basketball is a great way for kids to get active and have fun. It is one of the most popular sports in the world and one of the most widely viewed. It is a team sport that involves two teams of five active players each trying to score points against one another by throwing a ball through a 300 cm (10 feet) high hoop (the ‘basket’) under organised rules. It is played on both indoor and outdoor courts. It is a fast moving game that involves a lot of variety, including shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense and much more.

Badminton –Badminton is a fun active sport which is an easy game to practice with few painless rules. It boosts up your muscles, adds strength and endurance, improves blood flow rate and the benefits are endless. Apart from physical benefits there are mental advantages of playing badminton too.

Hockey – Thegame of hockeyis one where thinking plays a paramount role in success. The sustained energy and muscular strength required in hockey helps to develop fitness and endurance. Playing hockey is a great way of developing your leg muscles, including the hamstring, hips and calves. It also improves the endurance of shoulder muscles, triceps and forearms.

Volleyball – Volleyballis a team sportin which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Playing 45 minutes of volleyball can burn up to 585 calories. Volleyball also improves muscle strength and tone. The activities required when playing volleyball strengthen the upper body, arms, shoulders, thighs and lower legs. In addition, it also improves hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and balance.

Lawn Tennis – Lawn tennis is a good sport for maintaining health, fitness, strength and agility. It also has social and psychological benefits. One can play with a club or with friends and family as a social activity. Make sure to have plenty of fluids on hand and rehydrate regularly.

Swimming – Swimming is one of the most popular sports and an excellent recreational activity for people of all ages. It is a great way to keep fit, stay healthy and make friends. Swimming is a healthy activity that you can continue for a lifetime. It is a low-impact activity that has many physical and mental health benefits. Common swimming styles in recreational swimming are breaststroke, backstroke, side stroke and freestyle.

Playing the game of Chess on a regular basis right from the childhood improves the learning, thinking, analytical power, and decision-making ability of the child. It makes a child learn how to strategize aspects of the game and life. In addition, the child can also learn the importance of foresight, and planning.

Table Tennis – Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball. It is an indoor game. When played regularly it improves reflexes, hand-eye coordination and balance, while toning and strengthening the core muscles, upper and lower body.
